How is the Cremation Society Different Than Your Local Funeral Home?

1. Simple Cremation Services are All We Offer.

While many funeral homes offer cremation in addition to traditional burial services, simple cremation services are all that we offer at the Cremation Society of Connecticut. Most funeral homes in Connecticut serve two to four families a week and less than half of these families chose cremation. Since all we provide are cremation services, our company is able to offer the families we serve more options than the traditional funeral home at a fraction of the cost.

2. We Own and Operate Our Crematory Equipment.

Hardly any funeral homes in the State of Connecticut own a crematory and an even smaller amount have the crematory in their funeral home. At the Cremation Society of Connecticut, not only do we own our own crematory, but it is located in our facility in Windsor and is available for your inspection at any time. Our operators have many years of experience and have all been certified by the Cremation Association of North America. We have created a strict set of procedures to ensure that your loved one is cared for in the best way possible and afforded the dignity and respect that your family deserves. In addition to our rigorous operating procedures, we offer every family the opportunity to positively identify the deceased either in person or through photos and are therefore able to ensure the integrity of the entire cremation process. Finally, since we are not dependent on an outside crematory we are able to eliminate unnecessary costs of a third party and ensure that the ashes are available to your family in a timely manner.

3. We Offer Service Options that are Not Available at Traditional Funeral Homes

We understand that some families are not interested in the services, merchandise, and other costly services offered by funeral homes. Since all we offer are simple cremation services without the overhead of costly funeral homes, we are able to pass these savings on to our families. The Cremation Society of Connecticut offers four simple services to the families in Connecticut making the funeral arrangement process easy, understandable and inexpensive. Like many funeral homes, we do offer private family viewings, assistance with planning and conducting memorial and graveside services, and preparation of obituary notices and legal documentation. However, unlike most funeral homes, our professional staff will serve as a resource to guide you through applying for social security benefits, preparing for probate court, or preparing for special services such as scattering ceremonies. In addition, we offer families that ability to plan arrangements at any of our three offices, online, or over the phone.

4. Membership Program

At the Cremation Society of Connecticut, we offer our members special discounts on our services in addition to the assurance that in the event of your death your wishes will be carried out. A one-time membership fee of $30 along with a completed registration card is all we need. At the time of your death, our professional staff will respond promptly. Your completed registration card will enable us to complete the death certificate and proceed with cremation services as you have directed. After becoming a member, you will receive a membership packet that includes your personalized membership card with our 24-hour emergency member services number. Along with our guarantee and years of experience, you can have peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out and your family will be treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve.
