Service Package

We have a long history of assisting veterans with the benefits and services that they are entitled to and that they deserve. Our Veterans Service Package offers the families of veterans who proudly served our country the ability to recognize their sacrifice. Our staff is committed to making sure that your family receives all the benefits that are available through the local, state and federal governments. While all the forms that customarily pertain to veterans burial benefits are available on our website, for families that chose our Veterans Package, our knowledgeable counselors will take the time to ensure that every document is completed accurately and that it is submitted to the proper VA or government office.

Our veterans tribute package includes all of the services of our direct cremation package along with the following:

A bronze urn with the branch of service insignia
Coordination and direction of a graveside service at the Connecticut or Massachusetts State Veterans Cemetery or at a cemetery in our service area
A wooden flag case for displaying the flag presented during military honors
Scheduling of military honors (if desired), including a firing squad, taps, and folding and presentation of the flag by uniformed US Military personnel

Options

Weekend or Holiday Service $300
	This charge is for use of our facilities or staff for a memorial service, committal, private family visitation, or family witnessed cremation held on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday. This charge does not apply for transferring your loved one into our care on a weekend or holiday.
Private Family Visitation $150
	This service allows the immediate family members to view their loved one in one of our chapels for up to one hour. An upgraded container is required for this service.
Witnessed Cremation At Our Crematory $150.00
	Many families choose the Cremation Society of Connecticut for the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their loved one will never leave our care. This fee includes scheduling a mutually agreed upon time for family members to witness the cremation process. An upgraded container is required for this service.
Obituary Composition and Submission Fee $100.00
	This includes our administrative fee for composing and submitting an obituary notice to up to two newspapers. All obituaries will automatically be added to our website and will appear on Tributes.com, the country's largest obituary website, CTobit.com, and on the website of the respective newspaper if applicable. For submission to more than two newspapers, an additional $25.00 fee will apply.
In-Home Arrangements $150.00
	Our professional, caring staff can come to your home to make arrangements.

Final Disposition

Return Cremated Remains

We will release cremated remains to the designated individual on the cremation authorization only. Any changes to the recipient of the cremated remains must be acknowledged in writing by all parties on the cremation authorization. We are available at our Windsor location during normal business hours Monday through Friday and at our Rockville location by appointment for you to receive the urn.

Hand Delivery of Cremated Remains - $150

We will hand deliver cremated remains back to the family residence, within our service area, during normal business hours.

Mail Cremated Remains $95

This charge is for our service of carefully packaging and shipping cremated remains through the United States Postal Service Registered Mail. Registered Mail ensures that your loved one's urn will only be transferred by hand-to-hand methods and provides the highest security that the postal service offers.

Scatter Remains In The Long Island Sound $195

This service includes the scattering of cremated remains in Long Island Sound off the coast of Connecticut. Charges for families who wish to attend scattering services or who would like to have a service at sea will be priced upon request.
